Commissioning a website goes smoother when decisions are made before development starts. Pakistani SMEs often lose weeks waiting on logos, copy, or login access that could have been gathered in a short prep week.
Decide what the site must do
Write one sentence: “This website exists so that ___.” Examples: book appointments, collect wholesale enquiries, sell a catalogue, explain services for tenders, or support an existing sales team.
If you cannot finish that sentence, pause paid build work and clarify the business goal first.
Gather assets early
- Logo files (SVG or high-resolution PNG) and brand colours if you have them
- Photos you are allowed to use — or a plan to commission them
- Existing brochure or pitch PDF text you can reuse
- List of pages you think you need (Home, About, Services, Contact is a starting point — not a final architecture)
Nominate one decision maker
Agencies stall when five stakeholders give conflicting feedback. Appoint one owner who consolidates comments. That person should have authority on copy and design direction.
List systems the site must talk to
Mention CRM tools, WhatsApp workflows you want to keep or replace, payment preferences, booking tools, and email inboxes for form notifications. Integrations drive scope more than page count.
Content readiness checklist
- Rough headlines for each main page
- Service descriptions in plain language (not slogan-only)
- FAQs customers already ask on the phone
- Legal pages: privacy and terms drafts or a plan to write them
Technical access
If replacing an old site, collect domain registrar login, hosting panel, DNS access, and any existing analytics or Search Console ownership. Migrating without access creates avoidable downtime.
